What is Web Development?
Web development refers to the building, creating, and maintaining of websites; it’s the work that happens behind the scenes to make a website look great, work fast and perform well with a seamless user experience. It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming, and database management.
ROLE OF A WEB DEVELOPER :
Web developers do this by using a variety of coding languages. The languages they use depends on the types of tasks they are performing and the platforms on which they are working.
CLASSIFICATION OF WEB DEVELOPMENT :
Front-End Web Development
Front-end development, also known as client-side development, involves coding and programming the visual elements of a website that users will see. Front-end developers code the actual website using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and other frontend frameworks and libraries.
Frontend Frameworks and Libraries:
● AngularJS
● ReactJS
● VueJS
● jQuery
● Bootstrap
● EmberJS
● BackboneJS etc
Back-End Web Development
Back-end development, also known as server-side development, is the part of the website that users cannot see and interact with. It is used to store and arrange data and is the part that users cannot see and interact with. Back-end developers code the database and server using advanced programming languages such as PHP, C#, Java, Ruby, and SQL, as well as NodeJS and other server-side frameworks.
● Flask
● Express
● Spring
● Rails
● Laravel
Full-Stack Web Development
Full-stack developers code both the front and back end of a website. They have a solid understanding of how these parts work and function together. In addition to coding web pages using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript, full-stack developers also set up and configure servers, code Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), query databases, and more.
WEB DEVELOPMENT TOOLS :
Git : Git is quite possibly the most famous version control framework which is used in many organisations. This is why you should invest some time learning Git and a few basic commands like cloning, pushing to the repository, making a pull request, combining branches of code, etc.
GitHub : GitHub is a service platform where you can push your Git repositories to host your code. It is primarily used for collaborations, allowing the developers to work together on projects.
Code Editor : This tool permits you to compose the markup and code that will make up the site. The most popular code editor is VS Code. Other code editors are Atom, Sublime Text, and Vim.
Browser Dev Tools : You can do plenty of stuff using browser DevTools like troubleshooting, editing HTML tags, editing CSS properties, debugging JavaScript errors, etc. You can use any DevTools like Chrome DevTools, Firefox DevTools, or whatever web browser you are using.
