Tech Tips: How to block advertisements on your Android smartphone

 


Picture this: It's a beautiful Sunday evening and you are sitting outside in your balcony, watching the sun go down whilst sipping on your cup of coffee in hand. You decide to read the bunch of articles and blogs that you had bookmarked throughout the week for your weekly reading dose and you are bombarded with an advertisement. Then when you are halfway through the interesting piece, there is another ad and another!

Advertisements have been around ever since the dawn of the Internet era! The advancements in the smartphone technology have only seem to made the matters worse for all the Internet users who cannot seem to walk without stumbling upon an ad. Today, advertisements are everywhere! On the web, on your smartphone and social media sites, utility sites and even gaming or non-gaming apps.

The negative effects of these advertisements are so strong that for most Android users, there might not seem to be a way out of it! But thankfully, that's not the case for us and we're here to your rescue ๐Ÿ˜‰

To block ads on your Android smartphone, all you need to do is follow these simple steps: 

1) By using Google Chrome browser settings - ๐Ÿ‘€

- Go to Chrome browser settings.
- Go to Site Settings and tap on it.
- Go to Pop ups and toggle the switch!

2) By using an Ad Blocker app - ๐Ÿ’ช

Here, you might have to make a few extra changes in the settings of your device to install the ad-blocker APK. You can use AdBlock Plus to block all ads on your smartphone. 

☺To configure your smartphone to download the AdBlock Plus APK:


- Go to your device Settings. Then go to Security.
- Now, scroll down to Unknown sources option and tap on the checkbox.
- Tap on OK option in the confirmation popup.

☺To install the AdBlock Plus APK:

- Download AdBlock Plus on your smartphone using a mobile browser.
- Open the File Manager and look for the APK of the file. Now tap on install option.
- Once you have installed the app, open the app.
- Tap on OK option to confirm.

Alternatively, you can also use AdGuard, AdLock and AdAway apps to protect your Android smartphone from ads.
