We human beings are often forgetful by nature and need reminders to carry out tasks or to save important information and data. WhatsApp has a self-chat feature that can be used to share and save messages, important links, documents or notes in handy for quick references. Therefore, it is very convenient for users to access these messages instead of hunting for them in never-ending chats.

To send yourself a message on WhatsApp, follow the given steps:

1) Open a web browser such as- Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer - on your phone or computer.

.

2) In the domain address bar, type wa.me// followed by your phone number. Add your country code before you enter your mobile number. Indian users can type in their phone numbers in this format -- wa.me//91xxxxxxxxxx

.

3) You will get a window prompt to open WhatsApp

For mobile users, WhatsApp will open up with their phone number displayed on top, alongside their profile picture. Users can then begin chatting with themselves, add notes, or save photos and videos!

.

PC or computer users will see a new window that will open up with a button that reads, “Continue to Chat”. Select that option and WhatsApp Web/ WhatsApp desktop app will open up with your own chat shown. Users can then begin chatting with themselves or send notes to themselves. This chat will then show up on user’s phones and across other devices from where users can access all the information.

.

Alternatively, users can create a group on WhatsApp by adding just one other contact to the group and removing it later. In this way, the user who created the group is the only one left in the group and thus any message or link shared in that group will be like a note that the user has sent to herself.
